Frequently Asked Tattoo Questions
How old do you have to be to get tattooed?
The minimum age we accept is 18. Valid I.D required. No exceptions! Be prepared to fill out some paperwork.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Price varies per artist! Please email or call to inquire about a estimate. We accept E-transfer or cash only!
How do I make an appointment?
We do not book appointments over the phone, or online. You must first call or email to book a consultation. An $80 cash deposit is required to book your tattoo appointment. The deposit is deducted from the price of your tattoo, or forfeit if you are unable to attend your appointment, without 48 hours notice. Deposits are non-refundable.
Does it hurt?
Of course! Certain spots can hurt less than others, and after a while your body becomes used to the pain. If pain is of big concern to you, it's best to think of getting your tattoo in a more tolerable area.
How do I take care of my tattoo?
Anywhere from 2-6 hours after your appointment, remove the bandage and give your tattoo a thorough clean with water and unscented soap. Make sure it's a clean bar of soap. Repeat this process 2-3 times and pat dry with a clean towel. Do not soak your tattoo for 2 weeks. This means no baths, pools or hot tubs. Keep your tattoo out of the sun for at least 2 weeks and always use sunblock! Here at Ink & Honey we prefer a dryer approach for healing your tattoo. Using lotion does not help in the healing process. It is only for your relief of itchy, flaky tattoos. If you want to use lotion, use an unscented product and put on sparingly, a couple times a day. Do not pick at flakes! You will be given detailed instructions from your artist to follow at home.
How do I prepare for my tattoo?
Eat a big meal beforehand, or bring a sugary snack. Either way, don't show up to your appointment on an empty stomach!
Stay out of the sun! We can't tattoo you if you are sunburnt and your appointment will be rescheduled.
No numbing cream! These can change the consistency of your skin, making it harder to tattoo and cause excess bleeding as well as bad healing. Everyone has gone through the pain and lived- so can you!
Be ready to spellcheck! If there are names or dates in your tattoo, it's YOUR responsibility to check if they are correct when you arrive for your appointment.
Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE! If you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment we require 24 hours notice, otherwise your deposit will be forwarded to the artist to compensate for their time.
NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL! If you show up to your appointment drunk or high, we will not tattoo you and your deposit may be forfeit.
