-
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?We prefer if you email your design idea and details to potentially set up a consultation or appointment. We will take walk-ins if there is an artist available. A $100 cash deposit is required to book your tattoo appointment, unless it is a same day walk-in. The deposit is deducted from the price of your tattoo, or forfeit if you are unable to attend your appointment, without 72 hours notice. Deposits are non-refundable.
-
DOES IT HURT?Of course! Certain spots can hurt less than others, and after a while your body becomes used to the pain. If pain is of big concern to you, it's best to think of getting your tattoo in a more tolerable area.
-
CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM?Some of our artists are alright with clients using numbing cream for certain tattoos as long as it is mentioned to them beforehand. We recommend sticking away from using numbing cream for first tattoos, anything that's super detailed, or if you have sensitive skin. We do not provide numbing cream for tattoos, and will only work with certain brands like Zensa or Tattoo Numbing Cream Co. Please reach out before your appointment to the shop or your artist to gain permission or any clarification.
-
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY TATTOO?Anywhere from 2-6 hours after your appointment, remove the bandage and give your tattoo a thorough clean with water and unscented soap. Make sure it's a clean bar of soap. Repeat this process 2-3 times and pat dry with a clean towel. Do not soak your tattoo for 2 weeks. This means no baths, pools or hot tubs. Keep your tattoo out of the sun for at least 2 weeks and always use sunblock! Here at Ink & Honey we prefer a dryer approach for healing your tattoo. Using lotion does not help in the healing process. It is only for your relief of itchy, flaky tattoos. If you want to use lotion, use an unscented product and put on sparingly, a couple times a day. Do not pick at flakes! You will be given detailed instructions from your artist to follow at home.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?- Eat a big meal beforehand, or bring a sugary snack. Either way, don't show up to your appointment on an empty stomach! - Stay out of the sun! We can't tattoo you if you are sunburnt and your appointment will be rescheduled. - No numbing cream! These can change the consistency of your skin, making it harder to tattoo and cause excess bleeding as well as bad healing. Everyone has gone through the pain and lived- so can you! - Be ready to spellcheck! If there are names or dates in your tattoo, it's YOUR responsibility to check if they are correct when you arrive for your appointment. - Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE! If you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment we require 24 hours notice, otherwise your deposit will be forwarded to the artist to compensate for their time. - NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL! If you show up to your appointment drunk or high, we will not tattoo you and your deposit may be forfeit.
-
DO WE ACCEPT WALK-INS?Yes! If there is an artist available we will take walk-ins. We suggest calling beforehand or emailing your tattoo idea asking for walk-in time. If you stop by the shop you may be asked to come back later that day or the next day, if an artist has availability.

HOW FAST IS THE TATTOO REMOVAL LASER?There are many factors that can change how fast the process is: - if the tattoo was a cover up, there are more layers of ink to get through. - where the tattoo is on the body. - the colour in the tattoo and amount of ink (vividness) still in the tattoo. - preexisting scarring. - your pain tolerance!
-
DOES TATTOO REMOVAL HURT?Laser tattoo removal typically does involve some level of pain. That said, many say that it hurts less than they expected. It's a common belief that tattoo removal is excruciating, yet most patients say that the sensation of removal is comparable to having a tattoo applied. Common descriptions include the sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin or bacon grease – basically it's uncomfortable but bearable depending on the area.
-
WILL IT LEAVE A SCAR?If your tattoo already features scarring expect that to remain. What many people don't know is that any scarring that remains after a tattoo removal procedure is often left over from when the tattoo was originally applied. When the proper laser protocols and patient aftercare are utilized, it's very uncommon for a patient to scar. It eliminates ink, not pre-existing scarring, and with proper aftercare should not scar further. Any skin treatments will not scar the skin, only previous scarring will remain. Our laser can actually help minimize the look of some scarring as well!
